just checking in
I have absolutely nothing to blog about but I didn't want you to think I left the blog world. I then came to the conclusion that we don't do anything blog worthy. James works 12 + hours a day during the week (and sometimes on weekends) so when we have off time we just hang out or do odds and ends. I've been trying to learn how to sew on my own and it definitely has its ups and downs. UGH It's frustrating but I love when I'm finished. Stay tuned.
Hadley is continuing to sleep well and we're having fun together, we just don't do much :) Man we need to get a life haha
I need to order a water bottle to use throughout the day. My sister got my sister-in-law Marla one of these for christmas and I'm thinking of following suit. It keeps cold items cold for 24 hours and hot for 12 hours plus is all stainless steel. How fun right? It's pricey, but I seriously use it all day every day, no cups for me. I'm used to one with a straw now so I wonder if that will be an issue since it doesn't have one (I know, odd things I think about). Apparently they make them out of different things, too.
We are planning a little trip to James' family in SC sometime in July and may sneak in a family of 3 anniversary/birthday mini-vacay in as well.
That is pretty much it. Here's a family pic from this past weekend.
She's practicing sitting up more, she's almost there without toppling over.

Not sure what the face is, I think she was during her usual screaming babbling.
Enjoy your day :)

Father's day gifts
It seems like we've been working on James' gifts for like a century now. Everything just takes longer with baby Hadley around. I saw on pinterest where people make frames with their baby holding D A D letters. So that's what we set out to do. Hadley is very photogenic but it was very hard with just me doing it. I couldn't make her smile and take her picture. She also wasn't having a destination shoot (haha meaning she wasn't letting me put her outside in the grass). So I will post the final product and the pictures I used. I think it came out ok. My sister also made her a daddy's co-pilot shirt with our new embroidery machine. She's the brains behind operating the machine but I'm also co-owner and helper. Head on over to our facebook page or leave a comment with your email address if you'd like to place an order or have a question. We have all of our previous designs and fabrics for you to check out.
James has been itching to go see the new Super Man movie so we made up a movie certificate so he wouldn't feel bad about going since I can't go with him. He says just bring the baby, but I don't see that going well.
Here are the pictures from our "D A D" photo shoot.
With the shirt we made, she has it on in the "a" picture.

*update: James loved it! He brought the framed picture to work and was very pleased with our hard work :)

happy birthday brother!
Head on over to my brother Chris' blog and wish him a happy birthday!!
Turns out I have NO pictures with anyone and Hadley. I remember taking one with him holding her but can't find it anywhere.
So I'll just post a pic of him with our nephew Max and one with just Hadley :)
so happy birthday big brother! (ps big brother starts soon!)

Hadley's 7 months old!
I would like to pause her now! She's getting so big and I know I'll miss this stage.
Stats: estimating weight probably around high 16 pounds, Head circumference is 40 1/2 cm
New Developments:
She can eat puffs all by herself by grabbing them and putting them in her mouth! She also is VERY close to crawling. She gets on all fours and scoots up a bit.
Personality:
She's very happy bouncing baby girl. Hadley is starting to get bored playing at the house so she enjoys getting out and seeing people. She loves being papoosed in her ergo baby still on our outings. She also loves being outside and it' s great way to stall her naps. Hadley also loves bouncing in her rainforest bounceroo and is starting to try to pull up on tables.
Sleeping:
AHHHH :) What a difference this is writing this GOOD news. She is the perfect little sleeper now, I really can't believe it. She goes to bed at 8pm and wakes up somewhere between 7-7:30am. I mean seriously, what a good girl! She barely makes a peep either! Once in a while she'll have an off night where she'll cry a couple times, but it's nothing crazy. She is pretty much down to 2 naps as lately she fights the last later nap. We still get one 30 min nap usually and one longer one of an hour and a half. They still vary day to day we never know what we're going to get, it's a surprise :)
Randoms:
Hadley wears 6-9 month clothing and size 2 diapers
She loves rolling around and can get most places doing that. She's enjoying the stroller a little better as we take nightly walks. She doesn't love the car/car seat still, but it's getting a LITTLE better (if I throw a million toys on her to occupy her). Her hair is growing like crazy on top, I can almost put it in a pony. She loves the dog and cat!

Eating:
She is breasting feeding 5 times a day and are about every 3-4 hours (sometimes less if she naps short etc.) I can't believe she eats in under 10 minutes with that, I think back to her beginning months and how she would take 45 minutes, it's crazy and definitely better. She is also eating breakfast and dinner with solid foods. I am still making her those foods and so far she has had (and loved) bananas, pears, apples, peas, avocados, carrots, and sweet potatoes. We are going to be increasing this to three times a day soon. She loves food, and is now starting to get really angry when we eat and don't share. We give her puffs at that time or her solid foods.AHHHH :) What a difference this is writing this GOOD news. She is the perfect little sleeper now, I really can't believe it. June Goals
I read a couple blogs that set up goals each time a new month roles around. I thought that might be a good idea since I really don't have too much structure these days. I do love me a to-do list though. I am not going to do elaborate or specific goals because Hadley only naps about 30 min. each time (3 times a day) so I don't have much time to do things. I'm too tired when she goes to bed most days to tackle most things.
1. Start/finish James' father's day gift. I won't say too much (he doesn't check the blog I don't think but you never know). It's something simple that I've seen a lot of people do on pinterest.
2. Sew two pillow covers. I started youtubing some videos on how to use my sewing machine. I'm pretty impressed with myself that I could even attempt sewing. Right now I'm finding it hard to sew in a straight line..... I think I could pull off these envelope pillow covers I'm wanting to do, but who knows. Remember, I have all that fabric.
3. Get out more with Hadley and maybe make a friend or two (for us both). I've sorta already started this. I've had some mental goals for a while and this has been one of them. We've done a couple classes for babies but they've all stopped for summer time so we've been exploring some other options. I'll post more as we do more.
4. Get the spare room organized (we have all the pictures we haven't hung up in there still etc.) and possibly get some office furniture/get it set up. We also have things on the floor still and have temporary pieces in there.
That's all I can think of. I don't want to disappoint myself so I won't do anymore. We plan to be visiting family a bit in July so June is stay and explore Columbus, MS more.

Hadley's fabric letters
Hey there, I hope everyone had a great weekend. We mostly stayed close to the house for the weekend. Hadley was a little more fussier than normal (I think we may be teething more) so we didn't want to have her in the car when she really wasn't happy. We enjoyed nice meals out, did a lot on our todo lists, and grilled out tons! James also helped me with Hadley's final nursery project. When I say helped, yeah he pretty much did it all. At least I have the vision for all these things! He just finds it easier to do it instead of having to explain it to me then answer all my question. He's also afraid I'll staple my finger to things because I've been known to have some mishaps with sharp equipment (mostly knives).

It's a bit hard to actually read the letters, but I know what it says and James informed me we would not be fixing it :) I would just need thicker letters but I like the look of the fabric so we're leaving it. I saw the idea to hang it from a curtain rod instead of individually and I love it. It looks way better in person, I'll try to take a picture of the whole side of the room to see if you can see what I mean. It just completes the room. Now after 6 months, Hadley has her room finished! (Although I still want to frame her shower invitation and birth announcement).
