Hadley's fabric letters

Hey there, I hope everyone had a great weekend. We mostly stayed close to the house for the weekend. Hadley was a little more fussier than normal (I think we may be teething more) so we didn't want to have her in the car when she really wasn't happy. We enjoyed nice meals out, did a lot on our todo lists, and grilled out tons! James also helped me with Hadley's final nursery project. When I say helped, yeah he pretty much did it all. At least I have the vision for all these things! He just finds it easier to do it instead of having to explain it to me then answer all my question. He's also afraid I'll staple my finger to things because I've been known to have some mishaps with sharp equipment (mostly knives).

James staple gunned fabric to canvas we got from hobby lobby

we used fabric we got from here

It's a bit hard to actually read the letters, but I know what it says and James informed me we would not be fixing it :) I would just need thicker letters but I like the look of the fabric so we're leaving it. I saw the idea to hang it from a curtain rod instead of individually and I love it. It looks way better in person, I'll try to take a picture of the whole side of the room to see if you can see what I mean. It just completes the room. Now after 6 months, Hadley has her room finished! (Although I still want to frame her shower invitation and birth announcement).

Hadley's room update and weekend recap

Happy Monday everyone. Hope your weekend was good. Ours flew by. We had James' flight over yesterday so we wanted to get the house in order. Well more like make it look like we actually lived there. We hung pictures! Actually James did, but with my direction of course. I still need to fill the tiny frames but you get the idea.

We also got a CRAZY deal on stainless appliances this weekend which wasn't really planned. That deserves a whole blog post by itself so stay tuned for that tomorrow or Wednesday. It pays to stalk the internet for sure.

I also slipped away for a couple of hours to redeem my spa services from my valentine's gift. It was so hectic because of the appliance situation but luckily I made it. That is going to be another blog post also.

Doesn't that all sound busy busy. We have to cram everything in on weekends because James works 12 hour odd hour days during the week.

I will close my recap with a picture of Hadley's mini gallery wall above her dresser. If it wasn't 5 am I would take more pictures of other rooms. (Updated-living room pic and dog door added).

Hadley's new accessories

So I was able to get out without Hadley AND go with my mom and sister to Hobby Lobby. I missed that place! No, we don't have one of those in our small town in MS. I'm not kidding you when I said I haven't spent any money here because there's really not much in terms of shopping. We went to town! Furniture was on sale for 30 percent off (that's as high as they go for furniture) and we saw pink! I was worried it was be too fluorescenty, but it looks great! I haven't settled on actual placement yet.

I will use the back left as probably book holders. We LOVED the picture because it really marries the color scheme going on.

I mean seriously, how cute!!

bits and pieces of Hadley's nursery

Happy new year everyone! I am a bit behind on blogging but having an 8 week old (what!?!?) yes I know everyone always says, wow time flies, and yes I concur. I will not focus on baby girl Hadley this post but a quick update. Things went from bad to worse to MUCH BETTER. and she's still as cute as ever :)

We had a whirl wind couple of weeks here. We got into town and immediately had family visiting. We had three separate groups in and out. Saturday was the first day we were in this house with out any visitors since we moved it. Although it was nice and uneventful.... we realized it was just us to do EVERYTHING. It was also the first time I picked up a dirty dish, I didn't even know where things were in the cabinets. We got back into the swing of things and I even made dinner!

We miss having all the family help and company around. They helped with the baby, cooking, cleaning, unpacking, laundry, house renovations and putting Hadley's nursery together. We are very thankful and couldn't ask for better family!

I don't have time to write all the details I would like (Miss. Hadley is stirring in her swing right now) so I will leave you with bits and pieces. Once we get it finished, I will take a picture of the room as a whole and will include the details of where I got things etc. So for now, enjoy the sneak preview.

don't mind the sun, I couldn't get that right
cute curtains my mom made! more to come on the fabric, but white curtains
then she sewed the chevron fabric on the bottom

Mirrored dresser from pier 1

closet- james and his brother added another row of hanging/shelf
and we got a great storage area. it's messy but it's now more organized
with hot pink bins.

BEAUTIFUL crib bedding made by an etsy company (http://www.etsy.com/shop/RockyTopDesign)
Pillows courtesy of my mom and sister
and YES I know not to leave ANYTHING in the crib when the baby is in there :)

The chair has now gone in the room and it's almost all pieced together. We almost had an issue with the  wall color where it looked highlighter yellow. We were just about to go get different paint and start over until I thought of something. Turns out, it was the light bulbs they had in the light that really did a number on what the color looked like. So we all like it now. We are going to add square moldings around the room underneath the chair rail. I'd love to know what you think, so feel free to comment!
