Hadley's 4 year old post

Yes, we're still alive. I wanted to document Hadley's milestones so I'm blogging for her :) I just don't feel like blogging too much lately, although a lot has been going on. So follow me on instagram or facebook for more updated information.

I can't believe my princess is 4 years old already! Hadley is becoming the sweetest big girl ever.

Stats:
Hadley is 41 inches tall!! 85th percentile.... tall as usual :) People think she is way older than she is because of her height.
She weighs 38 pounds and is in the 71st percentile.
She is just growing like a weed and is perfect in every way!

We celebrated part of her birthday by a movie to see Trolls! (she's into this thing now where she is facing the camera but refuses to look.....)
Sleep:
She gave up naps a loooooong time ago. Just after her 3rd birthday and hasn't had one since. Hadley's in bed around 7:30/8pm and sleeps til 7 (sometimes later or earlier give or take). She wakes up sometimes in the middle of the night for one reason or another but she's usually pretty good to sleep all night.

Potty Training:
I'm copying everything I did for her 3 year old post so I can compare and I am happy to report that she is FULLY potty trained. She has been for a while, just after her 3rd birthday it really clicked. She occasionally has an incident where she couldn't hold it or had to go more than she thought.

Likes:
Hadley is still obsessed with baby dolls, she has converted back to loving pink (good thing because her room has pink stuff). She is a girly girl who still loves dressing up and being a princess. A big new love is SCHOOL!
I knew she would do well but she has exceeded my expectations. We started her this year at a mother's day out program at the church right down the road from our house. It's MWF 9:30-1:30. I thought she'd (at first) give me a hard time about dropping her off and give some tears.... but nope NOT ONE ever. She LOVES it. Loves her teachers LOVES the kids and it seems that she's miss. popular, everyone's parents always tell me their kid talks about Hadley all the time. I am so glad she is flourishing like I knew she could.
She loves playing outside with neighbors, cousins and friends. She absolutely adores her cousins Max and Coco and they get along for the most part :)

Hadley throws the occasional tantrum when you tell her no (usually no you can't have any more chocolate or no that shoe is on the wrong foot or no you can't sit in the middle or no you can't have the blue chair/plate/spoon-cousin fights). You can usually calm her down quick or a time out may be in order.

Hadley has such an imagination and can play alone for hours with her princess figurines and barbies. I guess that's one benefit of being an only child, she can surely entertain herself. We have the best of time together and she is still my little buddy. She enjoys shopping with me and running any errands. She could be gone all day from the house and be perfectly happy. There isn't many places she can't/won't go. We love our baby girl and have enjoyed every minute with our fancy four year old!

August

August started Hadley's gymnastics again and of course the OLYMPICS! I enjoyed them immensely and figured we should get the USA leotard since it just made sense! She looked adorable as usual. We're really trying to perfect the cartwheel, she's almost there. Olympics here she comes!

We hit up the only sky zone toddler time we can attend this year due to hadley being in school starting September. Everybody and their literal mothers, brothers, neighbors and friends were there, too. Here is our little crew. They had a blast.

bouncing away

I thought this picture was funny. Maddie's on the desk looking out the window. It seems that Bella is like why on earth are you on this desk with me, you're not a cat.

Well had to show this picture and document our first attempt at a sleepover with cousins.... It seems by the picture that it went well, it had so much potential..... Nobody would sleep, coco was crying at times and it was becoming really late. I threw the towel in and had to call mom to pick them up.... sound familiar huh? haha maybe when they're older. Hadley even wanted them to go, it was strange, the minute they left the room, hadley was asleep.....

this was us having fun before the sleepover.

Hadley and I attended our first baseball game together in August as well. All of my immediate family was out of town and James was off working. I got an email about my college alumni night (discounted tickets) and this was our local baseball team 10 minutes down the road. They just so happened to be playing my hometown team of Rochester, Ny that night! It was fate, we had to go!

Hadley had the BEST time. She barely noticed they were playing a baseball game because she was too busy people watching and eating. She did notice the mascot "chomper" as she calls him. She was determined to find him and ran up to get a picture with him. Chopper is still talked about and this was months ago.

Seems like we had an event filled August. I promise James was home for some of it, wasn't he? We did manage to get in a 3 day beach trip at the very end of it that I will feature next time. We went to Tybee Island, GA (outside of Savannah) and of course had to stop at my college on the way back home. We had fun mixing and mingling with the college co-eds in the book store and student union. They all loved Hadley, it's not every day you see a child on campus. Go Eagles!

4th of July festivities!

Chris and Marla came to visit over the long weekend of 4th of July. We hit a HOT farmers market up so the kids went straight to the fountains. Uncle Chris got most of them to go right through the middle of the huge one.... mainly while he ran through with them.

lots of nice greenery at the town center as well, but boy was it a hot one.

We had a more low key 4th of July celebration with family and also caught some town fireworks as well.
Here's our patriotic family of 3. We really look the part!

Grainy pic of us 3 at the fireworks show

Someone's anxiously waiting!

just chillin

Here are the cute cousins in their patriotic gear. Owen, Hadley, Coco, and Max.

We also took in a pool day because again it was a scorcher of a weekend.

The ladies all snuck away for a mostly air conditioned nice event of wine tasting at our semi-local winery, Chateau Elan. They generously pour always and have a nice spread of wines to try.

Here's the big group at the winery. My cousin Karen wanted to experience the outside and we lasted about five minutes.

Had to save this picture for last of my sweet niece Coco. She was ready for the neighborhood fireworks with all her proactive gear! Safety first Coco bean.

May begins summer fun!

May was the end of Hadley's gymnastics lessons but the beginning of summer fun!

Here's a first and last picture above. She's definitely taller! She just won't stop growing upward.

Hadley made herself some gal pals so we put on their exact leotards and recreated a picture we took. You can see how tight the leotards are on the bottom left. We were so lucky we met some great friends for hadley (and myself) on our random Tuesday morning class.

We also decided to visit the Atlanta zoo with Hadley's cousins. For some reason it was abnormally cool that May day. It was almost end of May, we wanted to get a trip in before school let out.

We also did a refresher swim lesson course and have spent lots of days at my sister's pool with cousins and more cousins.

We've hit some playgrounds with gal pals before it got to be 100 degrees outside.

This was actually the first pool we visited at my sister's husband's parent's (did you get all that?) club house pool in mid-May. Weather sure was nice in May but pool temperature was NOT ok to get in until end of June.

Kids had some fun bike riding days and lovely walking evenings. This is a pic of my sis with her kids and Hadley in my neighborhood. Max loves him some pjs.

We were right to get in a lot of outdoor activities in May because temperatures took a drastic and fast rise in June. Temps haven't been below 90 since then! (I am not sure that's accurate haha). I know I'm behind in blogging but I like reminiscing back a couple months to catch up.

More of April

In April, I decided it was time for Hadley's FIRST haircut! My mom was getting her hair done so we snuck in a little appointment during it. We didn't have much time to talk about it and she was super nervous. She insisted on me sitting with her so that's what we did. She did a great job though. Hadley only got a couple inches off to even it out and cut off dead ends.

Don't worry, I saved her curly little locks for her baby book.

James installed crown molding in our living room area and he did a fantastic job (as usual). I think it really completes the area.

(top one is the before)

Hadley was super thrilled to learn she could finally hold the dog! Maddie is less than thrilled but she deserves any extra love since she is usually the one giving it.

My Aunt Kathy had come for a visit and Hadley sure does love a visitor!

If this picture doesn't say trouble, I don't know what does! Look at my sweet princess haha

We had been waiting to go strawberry picking and one day it was pick two buckets and get one free day. So we all piled in David's truck and off we went!

This gal was super into eating them..... and eating them..... Coco basically ate the entire strawberry patch, which is frowned upon haha

For some reason Hadley decided to be the ruler follower and did not eat a single one. I couldn't even convince her to.

The strawberry ice-cream they had was seriously THE BEST. It had strawberry chunks in it and so so good. Makes me want it now and I'm not a big ice-cream person.

No doubt Hadley liked it

Seems like so long ago that we could even have a fleece jacket on! We are dying of heat down here right now.

This was my end results of our strawberry picking. My sister had just about the same amount too. We just finished our last frozen pie the other day, still delicious!

Weekend trip to Savannah

We headed on down to Savannah to James' place of employment to attend a small family air show that they had put on for us. They had a bunch of planes and we thought Hadley (and James) would very much enjoy it. This was Hadley's bed set up at the hotel, we were very pleased to find out we had the couch pull out because it's easier to make sure hadley won't fall out.

We had gotten up at 4:30 am to head down to Savannah and woke the kid up. She wouldn't sleep in the car at any point or lay down for a nap, so this is the result.... a kid asleep at 6:30pm.....

the waitress had no idea she was even down there, she looked at us pretty strangely when we ordered food for our kid

oh and don't wake a sleeping kid for dinner either..... SUPER cranky

The next day all refreshed, we headed to the air show! It unexpectedly decided to RAIN the whole day so that was kinda a bummer but we made the most of it.

I booked the hotel we stayed at mostly for the indoor pool (which worked out well because it was very chilly outside-more on that in a second). I chose to stay in the hot tub with my wine and let James handle the pool.

family selfie in the elevator, of course!

We headed downtown to our favorite spot! Wet Willies! They have the best frozen drinks (alcoholic and non for the little one). One of the best parts of Savannah, is being able to just walk downtown with your beverage. Makes it convenient when they have music playing outside.

We headed on over for some pizza to conclude the day. Next time we are down there, Hadley has requested we ride the trolley (mostly because of daniel tiger....)

Jen and David happened to be in Tybee at the beach that weekend so we swung on by while James finished up working.... turned out to be SUPER freezing so we literally stayed at the beach for two minutes.....

too bad because Hadley was ready to stay
