My beautiful chair

I've been looking at chairs/furniture for a while now. It was actually supposed to be my Christmas present and now I just keep lumping it in with any holidays since I knew they will/could be pricey. I have wanted wingback chairs to replace our love seat (apparently no one does love seats anymore). I like the look a lot and I've been checking overstock.com frequently. I read a lot of designer blogs and my good friend here in MS (who is a designer) also confirmed that it was a good site to get furniture.

She suggested this chair that she's used before (I think in a different color) and I LOVED it in her photos. It was listed for $465-&485 on overstock.com. It is now currently OUT OF STOCK.
I knew I loved this chair but it was a bit steep for me considering I would need a pair. I kept it on the back burner but knew that was the style I wanted.

Fast forward to last Saturday when I walk into our SMALL town TJMAXX. I always scan the store and go straight to the furniture. and BOOM there was my chair! Starring at me! and it was only $249.99. I knew I had to have it. I was blocking it so no one else could see it until we could move it up to the front. UNFORTUNATELY, they did/do not have another one :( Talk about a big bummer! We called every store within a 1-5 hour radius and nobody has it :( One thing about TJMAXX is they don't know when or if they'll ever get another, it's all totally random.

I did a side by side comparison when I get home and sure enough if is the EXACT chair from overstock, what are the odds of that!

Here's a look I got off of houzz via pinterest. I like the gray couch and beige chair look so that's what I plan to do eventually when all my pieces come together.

Even my Hadley baby loves the chair

here is its home for now since it doesn't have its match (sorry about the lighting)

If you see this chair at your local tjmaxx or home goods (and you live within a reasonable area to me,  BUY IT and call me :) )

Hadley's Easter basket

We The Easter Bunny hid Hadley's Easter basket. Apparently, that's not a thing everyone does? We grew up doing that and I thought that is how everyone did it. James looked at me like I was crazy but he went along with it.

I knew she would go right into the dog crate if I told her to because she loves it in there haha. What kid doesn't love a dog crate.

And in she went, happily (as expected)

Her most favorite item in there was this water bottle, all her little friends have one and she just LOVES it so I knew it would be a hit but I didn't realize she would want NOTHING else :)

She still hasn't put it down (a bunch of days later)

Here's all her goodies, a new paci (which she uses at night and in the car), TONS of board books, especially animal ones. She loves pointing to them and saying the name of them or telling us which sound they say. We got a no spill bubble kit (I've been blowing bubbles non-stop in case you were wondering). She also got some new pjs/clothes for her summer wardrobe. The easter bunny must have thought she was REAL good :)

Easter egg hunting

Last weekend we had our squadron Easter egg hunt. This is the first year Hadley boo could actually participate! The weather was fantastic and she is just too darn cute for words so let's take a look.

I mean can she get any cuter!

She loved finding the eggs! She also realized real quick that they were filled with things and just wanted to take them out repeatedly.

so precious

double fisting!
the park that the hunt was at, had a great playground too
Daddy and Hadley
Mommy and Hadley
Hadley's friends got to hang out and partake too!
Just had to throw this cute picture in of Hadley loving on Bella. Bella really has become very tolerable of Hadley. I even caught hadley more on top of her than this one day and the cat just let her do it.

We hope everyone has a great Easter weekend. I think we'll skip the Easter bunny pictures due to her "great" Santa ones :)

Last weekend's Air show

My mom, sister and Max came to visit last weekend for the Air Show! We were so excited to have visitors and have some fun things to do in our small town! The ladies went to the Spring Pilgrimage and toured some historic downtown homes. It's a HUGE deal here so I was glad to try it out this year. We did the "blue" tour and had fun mostly, but towards the end it did drag on with the history.

we got the kiddos "ear muffs" for the loud fighter planes so they were trying them on, as you can see, they liked each others; naturally.

cool Hadley and Daddy
Hadley and me, she's just so cute
waiting for the Thunderbirds! this is such funny picture because mom kept wanting to look up  even when we were trying to pose for a picture.
there they are!

such a fun time and weather was great for the day we went
After my mom and sister left, we met my friend Sommer and her cute baby girl Eloise for lunch. YES, it is a gas station.... that just so happens to have the BEST huge deli sandwiches.

Here's Hadley practicing putting Easter eggs in her basket that we ordered and my sister embroidered.
We are going Easter egg hunting this weekend and the weather is going to be GORGEOUS! We have tons of to do lists (as usual) but we hope to get a garden built and just enjoy family time. Have a great weekend everyone!

oh and a big shout out to my sweet Hadley who is officially 17 months old today!! just one month shy of a year and a half...... wow :)

Pink flag to Gulf Shores

The other weekend some fellow squadron spouses went on a "pink flag" (what we call the girl's get aways here) to the Gulf Shores, in Alabama. They do these about twice a year here for the ladies. This is the first one I was able (or wanting) to attend. It was also the first time I've ever left Hadley for more than a couple hours!! She's 16 1/2 months so I thought there was no time like the present! She was also in great hands with her daddy and they had such a great time. We had some last minute cancelers due to sickness or what not so we had a nice small group going.

We arrived to THIS weather!! It was crazy rain and wind.

Luckily that past the first night but we had a bit of a wind the whole time. This is the view from our HUGE balcony (which is why I booked the condo) The Sea winds 704 (by the way)

there are actually dolphins out there if you squint REALLY hard!

View of all the ladies!

being silly

we did get a couple hours of sun (in between putting our sweat pants on haha (no joke)

just hanging out :)

Sommer and me

Overall, it was a great trip and a nice break. Can't beat a water view.

California part 2

I've been away for the weekend and am trying to catch up in my postings. Here is the second half to my California Trip. If you missed part 1 it's probably just the last post :)
and HAPPY APRIL (ps. why is Easter SOOOOOOOO late this year?)

This was a photo taken by Andrea with her real camera down in San Francisco.

Hadley and spencer playing on st. paddy's day

the grounds at V. Sattui winery in NAPA

good picture of us three considering I set up the timer and placed it in a bush haha
Amy and myself at V. Sattui (my favorite of our short trip, wine pourer was very knowledgeable, fun, and helpful)

Robert Mondavi (my favorite GROUNDS, just breath taking)
more Mondavi

Jenny and Amy at Mondavi
Jenny and Me (mondavi)

no trip is complete with out a selfie (this one is seriously the best selfie EVER
Mondavi had the worst wine pourer guy (didn't say a word) but we did get to enjoy it on the
outdoor patio overlooking the gorgeous views
One of the only places open until 7. It was in town so no vineyard views but the staff was great and the wine was ok.
Andrea wasn't able to stay for our Napa trip so we had Mimosas with her at this great brunch place (minus the awful wait in which they forgot about us)

this picture sums it up, such great CALIFORNIA sun
This was the BEST recap of our San Fran trip, those guys were troopers
Here's the WHOLE gang..... are you exhausted just looking at these pics? :)
The whole trip was great fun and mannnnnn is there lots to do up in California! I feel like I just got my toes wet for the Napa trip, so we will definitely be back one day!
